I rode my bike up to the mall this morning and was drenched the day was so humid and hot. I wanted to walk and it wasn't comfortable to walk outside. I spent several hours there window shopping and having coffee and later lunch. I do not miss the village square on days like this. An airconditioned mall is much better. Evidently other people feel the same way because it was crowded. My shopping errand was to find ankle socks in a color other than white. You have to have. . . I have to have a purpose or I feel like I'm wasting my time. I wear the ankle socks with my tevas and they get so dirty when they're white. I found black without a problem but other colors were much more difficult. I slowly worked my way up the stores from lowest to highest cost. I finally found some navy, brown and gray but they did cost more than I usually pay. Oh, well, even more expensive socks aren't too bad. Why does everyone think that you have to wear white while exercising? It gets dirty so easy and on me it get dirty even easier. I've always thought that camoflauge would be a much better choice for exercise clothes. I don't handle white well. I love those white summer dresses that look so cool and crisp. On me they tend to end up stained and anything but crisp. I have always envied women who look good all the time. I look good, on a good day, long enough to get out of the door and then something will go wrong. I stopped at the coffee store and just wandered around looking at all the cute accessories and just sniffing the delightful smell of coffee. I didn't get any because I already have too much at home. Since it's just me I keep the coffee in the refrigerator so it'll last longer and the coffee is already taking up too much room. I love drinking coffee and I like good coffee and even grind my own, but I don't want to buy all the accessories since I usually end up using only one mug all the time anyway. I also only sniffed as I walked by the cinnamon roll shop. Mmmh! They smell so good. There are so many temptations at the mall. A fudge shop, the jelly bean store, a couple cookie vendors, a coffee kiosk with all the pastries to eat with your coffee, a pretzel place and the whole food court where you can get anything from Chinese to Greek, hotdogs to cajun. I did have a light lunch but that's all. I sat where I could watch the carousel. The children are so cute as they ride it. I loved merry go rounds when I was a kid. It was so special to ride one. I remember going up and down and up and down and watching the people watching spin around and pass me again and again and again. I was never good about grabbing the brass ring, though. I always wanted to hold onto the horse too much and was afraid to lean over too much. It was a shock to go outside again. I was very hot when I got home and just flopped in front of the fan and drank a couple glasses of ice water before I felt like I wasn't going to have heat stroke. It's a wonder that we don't all get sick what with the temperature changes we all go through every day in the summer.
