Thursday, September 2, 1999I managed to get going a little earlier this morning and didn't feel so rushed getting to work. Even 10 or 15 minutes makes so much difference when I walk to work. It was just a trace cooler on the way to work this morning. This weekend should stay in the mid to low 90s for a high so I'm hoping to get a little more time outside. There is so much hope in that last sentence. I always step outside and think "Well, maybe just a bit cooler. Maybe it'll stay cooler." In the winter I feel the first warm morning with joy. We are such a hopeful and forward looking people. Always looking for it to be better but sometimes forgetting to enjoy today. I had to give a little training session, along with LW , to the accounts payable and travel processors. It went pretty good but what I'm not good at is keeping them focused and we are a group that likes to talk. It was good to discuss what needs to be done, though. There are too many new people since the last training session. I've felt lost at work without my computer for the last few days. It wasn't working right so computer support decided to wipe it and start all over. The first time I had it back in just over a day but it still didn't work right so they had to do it again. I'm working on another computer but it just doesn't feel right. All the settings are wrong on the computer I've been working on but I don't want to change them as the lady whose desk it is will be back next week and she would not appreciate. I'm afraid I got a little testy with computer support. It's like losing your child. Well, not quite the same but you get the idea. I want my computer! I'm ready to do a little camping and spend time outdoors. In many parts of the country you get this urge in the spring. I get it in late August and September when I am thoroughly tired of the heat. I've been browsing websites on national parks this evening. There are so many national parks I would like to go to. There aren't that many that you can get to by public transportation though. I'll just start with the Grand Canyon for now, though.
