I saw "American Beauty" today and it is great. It's also strange, but a very cool movie and the acting was very good. It was spooky to see how easy it is to go crazy and it made me wonder how many "perfect" people that I know are already crazy. Cool movie.

The problem with going to a movie anywhere but the cheapie place that's close is that I had to leave an hour and a half before the movie started. That's 45 minutes for the bus ride and then another 45 minutes till the movie starts because the bus only runs once an hour on Sunday. The same for the ride back, except it was a little longer since the bus was late.

I don't mind since since it gave me time to wander around the mall and watch people. There's also this taco place that makes the best quesadillas. I also get reading time on the bus and at the mall but it's still a good four hours to see a movie. If I go to the cheapie place I can ride my bike and don't have to wait for the bus but I don't always want to wait and all the movies don't end up there.

Sometimes I get very irritated and frustrated when it takes so long to do something but I've noticed that since I've been carless I've slowed down and I've learned to look at the world in a whole new way. It's not always better but it is more real, I think. I see things that I never saw while I drove a car.

It's still frustrating at times. A car is so much more convenient and comfortable but not as interesting or even as fun. I enjoy not having to worry about a car. I always worried when I had a car, everything from a wheel flying off (really) to it breaking down in the middle of nowhere. For some reason I was never comfortable with owning a car.
