My throat isn't hurting right now but my nose does, the inside of my nose. It's painful. I feel, above all, tired. I don't feel sick anymore but I have no energy. I'll probably go back to work tomorrow but it'll be hard. There's something about staying home when you're sick that tires you out more than rests you. Part of it, I'm sure is all the lying around. At work I'm always up and down and back and forth. I feel flabby and bloated after only two days.

I made it through three mysteries today. Mysteries are so nice to read since they don't really take a lot of mental energy. One of the books was "False Scent" by Ngaio Marsh. I've read all of Marsh's books years before but I enjoy rereading them once in a while. They are so mannered and well written that they are enjoyable to read. She, like Agatha Christie, writes so well about British society, though at a slightly later date than Christie. Marsh gets into more art and theatre circles than Agatha Christie ever did which adds extra interest to her books as that set against her oh so upper class detective, Alleyn, is very good.

The second book was "A Head for Poisoning" by Simon Beaufort. It's set right around 1100 AD in England and involves the fighting between William the Conqueror's sons, a returned crusader, Sir Geoffrey Mappestone, the protagonist, and his rather vile family who were all busily killing each other and trying to kill the king, one of the kings. It's a well written story though I thought the plot was a bit far fetched. It's an interesting period to write about as the Normans and Saxons and Welsh were all fighting each other.

The third book was "Mara, Daughter of the Nile" by Eloise Jarvis McGraw. Technically this isn't a mystery but it was close. It was an interesting read about Thutmose overthrowing his half-sister Hatshepsut for the Egyptian throne. The characters were interesting and the story was good. Egypt has a great history for good novels. Technically this was a teen book but I've noticed that half the classics are in the teen section at the library which is such a crock.

So basically that's been my day, reading, sleeping, sitting, I am so tired of not getting any exercise or going anywhere.
