I have new cap on my tooth. I am also over $300.00 poorer, and that's with insurance. I left home earlier than I needed to so I could eat breakfast at Brawleys which is a tiny restaurant near the dentist. It's on the other side of town from me now so I don't eat there often but when we lived near it I enjoyed going there.

They have two eggs, hash browns and toast for 99 cents. They are good and fast and friendly people. Even with coffee breakfast is under $2.00. It's first come, first served and on weekends you stand around outside till you are called as the restaurant is small and popular.

I still had time so I walked around my old neighborhood. It's a good neighborhood. The main intersection has one of the highest traffic accident rates but that's the main drawback. Within a mile of our apartment we not only had Brawley's but a library, and it's one of the branches that is open on Sunday, a hospital, a good mall and were right on the best bus line in town. I've thought of moving back out there but haven't found a place that I would be willing to pay the cost of moving for.

I don't understand why everyone is so surprised that Buchanan is no longer a Republican. He hasn't been a Republican for a while. He's more of a populist which is closer to Democrat. Only his views on social morality make him seem to be a Republican. I'm not crazy about populism so I didn't care for him four years ago either.

Populists want to instantly be able to swing the country in the direction they want. I prefer the rather unwieldy method we have now as it softens the extremes that would happen if we had mob rule, which is what populists really want, though, of course, they just call it the "will of the people". Well "the people" can be too often too easily swayed and I prefer a system that gives them a chance to think about what they think they want.

I am surprised at Trump, but that's more because I don't see Trump as a politician and can't imagine him having the patience to be a politician of any party. I'm not surprised at Trump joining the Reform party but that he want's to run at all. It's just like him to start at the top, though. None of the working your way up, paying your dues stuff for him.

I'm reading too many books at once again and losing track of where I am. It's so seductive to just look into an interesting book and I'm hooked. I carry one in my backpack, as well as a magazine, all the time and usually have several checked out from the library at any time, though I'm not reading them all. I'm trying to make a real effort to finish the ones I've started before starting any new ones, but they are beckoning me from the table.
