Sunday, December 19, 1999Today I rode my bike to work to check on a program which was running. It had bombed so I started it again (and worrying about that has been in the back of mind all day). Then I rode to Bookmans, a great used book store, and spent a couple hours looking for things. I bought some Christmas presents and ONLY one book for myself. I did well. I then came back home and dropped off that load and rode up to Borders to do some more looking. A couple more hours there and it was busy, busy. It's nice to know that people want books for Christmas. Hmm! Maybe I'd better amend that because I buy books for people if I don't know what they would like. I did find some good books, though it was very difficult to decide to buy something because I worry that other people won't like it. Then I stopped at both Michaels and Target to pick up a few other things and back home again. Then up to the mall to do a little more looking though I didn't find what I wanted or wasn't sure that it was what I wanted. On the way back home I stopped at the supermarket to pick up a few things. By this time I was not in a good mood. It was after 4:00 and I was tired. I was tired of walking so much, besides the 15 miles I had already cycled today, through crowds and dodging cars while trying to get in and out of parking lots. I was muttering while locking my bike up at the supermarket because some idiot had locked his bike on sideways and I could barely find room. I glanced over and noticed someone looking at me funny. I guess was muttering a little loud. I was ticked off by shoppers in the supermarket and thought the lady behind me in line was an idiot and the one in front had no consideration of her fellow shoppers. It was a good thing that was next, and last, stop was at home. I got quite a bit done but I am so tired of Christmas shopping and I still have a couple things to buy. My irritation carried over when I did laundry, several loads since I've been putting it off, and one of the dryers didn't work well so the clothes in that one weren't completely dry. That is so frustrating when you use a laundromat as you have decide if you should just drape everything around the house or pay for another dry. Ours are set up so you have to do a full dry for 75 cents, and can't just pay for 10 minutes at a time. I decided on draping. The clothes are folded, I cooked a nice supper, salad and soup, and am now relaxing. I need to just take a shower and I'm done for the day. Oops! Forgot, I still need to do dishes. Oh, bummer, but that won't take long and then I'l be done for the day. I'm looking at stuff piled everywhere though (not laundry, I did fold and put them away) that needs to be put away or wrapped or something. This is going to be a much too short week.
