National Parks that I've visited

(and National Mouments and National Historic Sites and National Recreation Areas and . . )

I think that National Parks are one of the best ideas we've come up with. We don't always implement the idea very well, but we keep trying and never let go. I love going to National Parks. I've written about my ideas on the national parks in my essay on the environment .

Below are the National Parks and Mounuments I've been to, though I don't have pictures of many of them. I didn't get into photography until recently (and I'm making up for lost time). This gives me a reason to go back to some and get pictures. Works for me! I have pictures for some that I don't have scanned yet, such as for Death Valley.

Some of the pictures were taken by my daughter. We took a trip to Chicago in 1994 to go to my son's graduation and she tried to get a picture of us at the entrance to each national park. That was such a great trip. The full text is at http://www.ramblesandbyways.com/94trip/94trip.html . I continued on by myself after the graduation and made it to quite a few more national parks. I still writing about most of the trip but you can read what I've written so far. I will get the rest up one day. I promise!

I've also put next to some national parks the name of a transit company if the park is accessible by public transit, including some parks I haven't been to yet . If the transit company has a website I've put a link to it. I've only been to Grand Canyon by public transit but plan to visit more that way. Most also have tours such as Grayline that are quite reasonable but I enjoy puttering around a place and prefer to go at my own pace if I can. I'm not listing transit that stops outside the park unless you are able to easily walk to a campground in the park or can connect to a shuttle that runs through the park. If anyone knows transit links, public or private, that I haven't listed, let me know .

Public transit to park I haven't been to yet:
  • Yosemite - Getting there: Yarts
