  • Read in July 1998 - Very interesting book saying that the difference between American and European temperaments was established by the fact that Europe has been overrun for centuries by battle, blood and rapine. People in Europe have had to develop a siege mentality and learn to live with conquerors for nearly a millenium. This is a very though provoking book and very easy to read.
